This
is my first time to join in Run United running events. Before I registered to
this leg of RU, I’ve already told to myself that I will join in all 3 legs of
RU for this year to complete the trilogy. On the registration date, my
officemate and co-runner Tee informed me that she went to Riovana Katipunan but
no available slots were left for 21k category. She went to Riovana BGC and was
able to register there and informed me that only 200 slots were left. Can you
imagine how Run Rio events are highly supported? Registration opened only 12
noon on that date. Only 5 hours have passed and almost all slots are sold.
I am actually planning to register the next
day, but because of the information given by Tee, I immediately went to Riovana
BGC to get my slot. Upon arrival, the crew informed me that only 10 slots were
left and only XL sizes are available. Still lucky for me that there are more
slots left and the remaining singlet fits me.
My RU1 Race Kit:
Race
held in Roxas Boulevard were the race course is flat and straights so I trained
hard aiming for a sub-2 hours finish in 21K.

race date comes…..
With my sister, she ran 10k on leg
1. Actually she also wants to run 21k but unlucky for her as no more 21k slots
available when she went to Riovana the next day.

The plan to finish a sub-2 hours on this good 21K running course failed this time but still
thankful to finish it safe as a whole even I suffer from ankle pain which later
I found it to be a PTT [Posterior Tibial Tendonitis] resulted on running worn
running shoes. It took me almost a month to be partially healed and more than
2months to be fully recovered.
Over all experience running RU event is very
good. This is currently the best and most organized running event for me as of
this writing. I’ll will continue running in RU events even registration for RU
is already a challenge :-] .
